Can't Wait to Learn (CWTL)-Education Technology
Description
Can’t Wait to Learn is an evidence-based Digital Personalized Learning (DPL) programme that provides online and offline access through tablets to enhance foundational literacy and numeracy skills. Can’t Wait to Learn is contextualized to Uganda, aligned with the national reading and math curricula, and approved by the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) as fit for P.1 - P.3.
Impact
In Uganda the Can’t Wait to Learn Pilot and effectiveness study conducted by War Child and Ministry of Education showed improved learning gains in both reading and math for children enrolled in the programme as compared to their counterparts who did not participate the programme. Besides, Can’t Wait to Learn has shown potential to attract and retain children in school due to its motivational design using gaming technology, videos, audios and using tablets to learn captivates children and makes learning fun thereby fostering attendance, retention and transition. Studies in other countries like Sudan, Lebanon and Chad have proven that Can't Wait to Learn has enhanced quality education and transition into formal education even in conflict contexts.
