Education Sector Reform and Policy Development
Description
We transform Uganda’s education system through policy innovation, curriculum reform, research, and partnerships. By integrating climate change education into secondary schools, we prepare youth to lead sustainable development. Our work ensures equitable, accessible, and high‑quality learning that equips the next generation to protect the planet and drive societal progress
Impact
Humanity Horizons' climate education innovation embeds climate literacy and green entrepreneurship into secondary schools, training teachers with CPD and microcredentials, incubating student Back-Home Green Businesses through Climate Action Hubs, and showcasing top projects at a Student Climate Summit that links finalists to mentors and seed funding. Targets include CPD uptake, validated BHB plans and post‑program business launches; priority actions are printed materials, holiday intensives, EMIS indicators and CPD accreditation to enable scalable, equitable national system adoption.
Target Audience
Secondary students—especially vulnerable, lower‑performing and day‑school youth—teachers gaining CPD and micro‑credentials, school leadership and staff, households benefiting from increased income and resilience, local economies through green micro‑enterprises, and district/national education bodies (DEOs, NCDC, MoES) receiving scalable curriculum, EMIS indicators and policy‑ready evidence for equitable, climate‑resilient livelihoods and systemic reform nationwide.
