UBUCHANGE Banana Bark Creations – Eco-Friendly Bags and Baskets Inspired by African Culture

Agriculture Commercial
Description

BUCHANGE is a social enterprise that works with disadvantaged individual artisans in Uganda, including refugee and host communities, to produce eco-friendly bags and baskets made from banana bark. The products are handmade and inspired by African culture and design. Through our social marketplace, artisans can sell their products directly to customers both locally and internationally. We support them with training, fair income, and access to a wider market.

Impact

UBUCHANGE helps disadvantaged artisans from both refugee and host communities to earn income and build a stable livelihood. We train them to turn banana bark into beautiful handmade products and connect them to buyers through our online marketplace. This innovation supports environmental protection by reusing banana waste, promotes green jobs, and builds peace through shared economic opportunities between refugees and hosts.
