Description

The gulper technology and pupu pump is mechanized, portable and affordable technology designed to sustainably fix the pit emptying gap in hard to reach areas. The system operates in a way that the manual lever switches between suction to draw feacal sludge into the reservoir and blowing pressure to expel it through a hose pipe. The duck valves are used to handle debris and thick sludge effectively. The system includes 4-inches suction hose and a lay-flate hose pipe for delivery in to a storage tank on a vehicle or tricycle.

The innovation has the following fundamental economic social impacts, It creates employment opportunities for the youths through engaging in pit emptying business. Improved sanitation, through this innovation, there is access to clean and dignified pit emptying services in areas that are not accessible to the vacuum trucks. Better containment of the feacal matter helps in reducing environmental contamination through proper disposal of sludge. Promote clean energy through production of biogas as result of end products of value chain.
