The Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) is a flagship development cooperation programme of the Government of Japan, implemented through the Embassy of Japan in Uganda. It provides financial support to non-profit, development-oriented organizations delivering community-level projects that address immediate needs and strengthen local resilience. Established in 1989, the GGP programme has supported grassroots initiatives in 141 countries, reinforcing local leadership and ensuring development assistance reaches underserved populations.
